Grimes Point Archaeological Area is just east of Fallon, Nevada. It is a place once inhabited by the Paiute-Shoshone (Cattail Eater) people about 7000 years ago. It was then on the shore of Lake Lahontan which covered a large part of Nevada. There are ancient petroglyphs and some caves once used by these people that can be seen. There are some interesting land features such as Green Mountain, Yellow Mountain and Eagle's House there as well as Rainbow Mountain where you can find Nevada Wonderstone (Ryolite).
